Well I gave a gift to my music teacher yesterday and she was blown away.
She has always talked about one day owning a 12 string. Well now she has
one!!!
I gave her my 1st attempt at a 12 string. This is the one where the neck
broke. (Cocobolo/Lutz SJ)
She loves it. She told me she stayed up into the middle of night playing it.
It is nice to have our work appreciated.
Here is a pict of the 2 of us

Well Done Andy,

Great look'in guitar, I especially like the headstock design. I would imagine that size would have been a major consideration when trying to keep a proportional balance between the required 12 tuners and the smaller SJ body, well executed.

No wonder your teacher looks soooo happy, what a fantastic gift.

Cheers

A really nice looking guitar Andy. Congrats on a great build . I like everything about it . A great shaped body,,,,,,,er ,,, the guitar ,I mean

I'm building a 12 at the moment . I seem to recall your's was 1 7/8 " at the nut. What is the string spacing at the saddle , and how did you go about saddle compensation ?

Well done Andy No wonder she has such a smile on her face . What a generous gift !

Thanks for the nice words

Kiwi Craig
It is 1 7/8th at the nut. At the bridge, the distance between pin holes 1 and
12 is 2 5/16ths (center to center) Make sense
Approx 2 3/16ths between 2-12 or 1-11

As far as saddle intonation, I did each string separately with small file. A
real pain!!!!azimmer138906.8255208333

Thanks Andy. What thickness of saddle is needed to do this compensation ? 3/16 " ?

Craig there was a useful discussion on 12 string saddle compensation a
week or two back. It should be here somewhere on in the archives.

Dickey, I glued the break and got a very clean glue line, but it was still
visable. A sunburst to the neck took care of it. Here is a pict of the back
